Embedded Safety and Security Summit 2026 (ESSS 2026)
Professor Dr. Karthik Vaidhyanathan from Software Engineering Research Center (SERC), IIIT Hyderabad, participated in a panel discussion at the Embedded Safety and Security Summit 2026 (ESSS 2026) held in Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
He delivered a talk titled “When Agentic AI Enters Safety-Critical Systems: Engineering Autonomy Under Uncertainty,” exploring the opportunities and challenges of introducing Agentic AI into safety-critical systems. His talk addressed key questions around the appropriate level of autonomy, engineering for uncertainty, and ensuring the dependability of AI-enabled systems.
Dr. Karthik also participated in a panel discussion on “Collaboration, Innovation and Dependability,” alongside experts from the embedded and safety-critical systems community. The panel explored emerging trends and the future direction of AI-enabled safety-critical systems.
The event provided an opportunity to engage with researchers, industry experts, and practitioners working in embedded systems, software engineering, safety, security, and dependability.
